Satellite Based Mapping

IMT is excited to provide terrain mapping using stereo IKONOS imagery.  Since 2005 IMT has completed over 51 projects spanning the globe for various mining and oil and gas interests.  These sectors require timely, accurate data often in areas where obtaining conventional fixed wing imagery is difficult. IMT supplies topographic data and terrain models for the generation of 2 metre contours.

IKONOS Elevation Mapping Example: 

• 10km by 10km stereo IKONOS base mapping with 2 m contour products produced for a mining project in NW Argentina in 2006.
  
  
• 1915 drill hole collar and sample point elevations were surveyed in 2007 and subsequently compared to the stereo IKONOS elevations.
  
  
• 1828 of the 1915 surveyed elevations (95.5%) were within 2 m of the elevations mapped with stereo IKONOS.  The maximum elevation difference was 4.5m. RSME <1.0m
